Five Ways to Bond Better with Your Sons

In present days of fast life young mothers find it difficult to bond with their children, be it due to stress, less time spent, job, gender difference or any other factor. For mothers it is quite easy to bond with their daughters but a bit difficult to bond with their sons, more so if they didn’t have any brothers with whom they would have grown up together.

Keeping that in mind we would like to give you some basic tips to bond with your lovely child in a much better way.

Make it a habit to talk to your son(s)

Right from toddler days make it a habit to talk to your sons as much as possible so that they do not hesitate to share things with you when they grow up. Talk to them even when you are doing your household activities.

Ask them how their day was when they return from school, share your happiness with them or vice versa, lend an ear when they are low. Adequate time is not just the only key to a healthy relationship but engagement is.

Be their guardian and then their friend

Be their guardian, guide and companion when they are younger. Be their friend when they reach teen-age, so as to avoid any awkwardness in the relationship. It will help you bond better with passing years as you watch them grow up so fast.

Inculcate the spirit of teamwork from games

Play with them, be it outdoors or indoors. The positivism is immense that comes from the spirit of games, teamwork, winning and losing. So, go out run with them in the park, play cricket no matter how good or bad you are at the game, play football or just a simple hide-and–seek or play their favorite video games at the comfort of your room.

It does not matter what you are playing, what matters is the time you are spending with them while doing their favorite activity.

Involve them in household chores

Involve them while doing household chores, be it cooking, cleaning, washing or drying. This not only makes the bond stronger but helps in inculcating values and respect and equality right from a young age.

Give them space

Last but not the least, give them some space when they need it so that they can be themselves. It will create a sense of mutual respect for individual space.

These are just few tips to make your relationship better. But remember, the secret lies in the love and care that you give them, be it a son or a daughter, because it is Your child. Motherly instincts are the best to guide you in the long run.

If you have any other examples or suggestions to bond better with your child then do leave a comment. We would love to hear from you.
