ITL Industries: A Pioneer in Metal Sawing Technology in India
The woodworking, metalworking, lumbering, and numerous other industry segments depend on metal sawing machines. Had these facilities been not invented, industries would not have mushroomed to their zenith. Innovations do hold sway every year. What is considered the best and most useful may turn obsolete tomorrow with newer technological innovations. When we speak about metal sawing machines, a pioneer worth mentioning here is ITL Industries Limited. This company has been contributing to India’s economic growth story for over three decades now.
The BSE listed and ISO 9001: 2008 certified company based at Indore, Madhya Pradesh is a leading designer, manufacturer, supplier, and exporter of metal sawing machines. It has been rightly said that unity is strength. ITL Industries Limited is the joint endeavor of two young entrepreneurs – Er. Rajendra Jain and Mr. Mahendra Jain. What started as a partnership firm in the name of INDORE TOOLS as a commercial tool room to design and manufacture Jigs, Fixture and Tools and Press Tools, especially to cater to BHEL Group’s 8 units across India, expanded in no time! They started with only Rs. 2.75 lakhs on 8th February 1985 with very few employees.
Three years later, i.e. in the year 1988, the Jains introduced India’s first indigenously designed Double Column Type Band Saw Machine. In 1993, ITL Industries became a Public Limited Company and got listed at the Bombay Stock Exchange.
“Ever since our inception, we have never compromised on quality. Research and development is a continuous process at our unit. This facilitates us to stay ahead of time in technology,” says Er. Rajendra Jain, Managing Director.
And the product expansion journey started at a fast pace, thus expanding their horizons in newer boundaries. In 2003, they started manufacturing equipment for production of ERW tube/pipe from 10 mm to 500 mm dia. and stainless steel tubes up to 200 mm dia. A year later, they introduced India’s first indigenously designed CNC Carbide Tip Circular Sawing Machine. In 2007, they introduced India’s first NC Carbide Circular Saw Machines. At present, this product is made available in various models to cover 10 mm to 250 mm cutting capacity. And then, they introduced eco-friendly Highly Energy Efficient Burr Free Coldsaw Fly Cutoff for online cutting on Tune Mills up to 120 Mtrs/Minutes.
The wide range of circular Sawing Machines developed by ITL finds application for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous Bars, Sections, Profiles and Tubes. Today, ITL Industries has emerged as a leader and pioneer in their industry segment with turnover amounting to crores and backed by a robust staff strength of 310 employees.

India’s Firsts by ITL Industries
1. Double Column Type Band Saw Machine in the year 1988
2. CNC Carbide Tip Circular Sawing Machine in the year 2004; this machine was displayed in EMO Exhibition at Hanover, Germany in September 2005 and 2007. It got immense positive response from global market leaders
3. NC Carbide Circular Saw Machines.
Bandsaw Machines developed by ITL Industries makes metal cutting faster at reduced per cut cost. The company is a pioneer in introducing highly advanced “LMG Horizontal Bandsaw Series” (200, 280, 350, 450, 560, 660, 860, 1020, 1260, 1520, 1760, 2020 mm Solid bar Cutting capacities) for achieving high accuracy in metal cutting. Apart from making standard Bandsaw machines with cutting capacity of 25mm to 3000mm, ITL has indigenously made Special Purpose Sawing Machines for various applications like Runner Riser cutting Engine Block Cutting, Cylinder neck & end cutting machine, pipe sizing machines etc.
“Our Circular Sawing Machines are extremely fast compared to the conventional Double Column Band Saw Machine. These are designed to cut ferrous and non ferrous metals like Mild Steel, Alloy Steel, Copper, Bronze, Aluminum, etc. They find application in cutting channels, solid bars, hollows, flats, squares, angles and other sections of ferrous and non ferrous metals. With the thin TCT Cutter, it reduces parting losses and one gets very good surface finish. The machines are available in manual, semi-automatic, automatic and numerically controlled versions .These are available for cutting materials ranging from 10mm onwards up to 220 mm in four different models,” says Mr. Mahendra Jain.
By 2022, the Jains are looking forward towards meeting an export target of 50% and generating an annual turnover of a mind boggling 120 crores. My India My Glory wishes ITL Industries more success in years to come.
